How to create a video to display a model to clients
How to create a video to display a model to clients
(OP)
Hi
Was wondering how do you create a video or movie of a part on its own and maybe a system of parts working.. its probably hard and time consuming but anyhow.

Or, if you have a screen capture software, use the video portion of it and have it record all your assembly manipulations, not as slick, though.

It is for 2001 but most of it is still valid for WF and WF2.
For a single part, I usually make an axis for it to rotate around, drop it into a dummy assembly, add a servo motor to have it rotate 90 degrees per second, and record an animation for 4 seconds. I usually record sequential images to a different directory and make an animated GIF out of the frames (this lets me create transparent backgrounds for use in powerpoints, websites, etc).

You need to play around with your frame rate.
When you record your MPEG, you have three options: 25, 30 and 50 Frames per second (FPS).
So if you are recording your MPEG at 25 FPS, you need to make sure that the animation or motion analysis is also recorded at 25 FPS to ensure that the animation is running on a 1:1 time scale.
If you want to slow it down, you can record your motion analysis with a higher frame rate. It will still cut to the MPEG at 25 FPS, except it will seem to be moving slower, since the steps between each frame are now smaller.
Hope it helps!
