Hi

I have a curious observation. Create a folder by name 'Notepad' in your Windows XP desktop. Open any website and try to view its source code.

Are n't you alarmed ?

Please try it out and you will find for yourself.

I suspect that it doesn't have any effect with a standards-compliant browser. If you're browsing with IE it will get confused as IE's search path for the application starts in the wrong place (DeskTop).

Good Luck

Actually, this is an issue I ran into myself before. For me, it happened when there was a Shortcut to Notepad on my desktop.

Another way that breaks the ability to view source code is if your Temporary Internet Files cache is set to be larger than 80 MB, or if its total size is > 80 MB.

veeerrrryyy verrrryyy strraannge. Both of these issues are actually mentioned in the MSDN Knowledge Base, if you're lucky enough to type in the correct search phrase and blast your way through all the other crap on there.
