marking of PTFE

marking of PTFE

(OP)
I am presently looking for a method of applying a ring markerband on a wire that has been coated with a .0003" layer of PTFE. The PTFE used is dark green, and I need something that will adhere to the PTFE as well as giving a good color contrast. Minimal amount of increase in overall wire thickness is important.

Does any one have an idea.

RE: marking of PTFE

Have you considered laser marking?  There are a lot of laser marker suppliers out there - Control Micro Systems, Telesis, TDK to name a few.

We have tried laser, but the mark is dark grey, not very good contrast to our dark green coat.
