Carrier E20 hap software atrium heat load calculation.

Carrier E20 hap software atrium heat load calculation.

Carrier E20 hap software atrium heat load calculation.

I have a atrium (half pipe glass roof).Software wants only two dimension for skylights. If I  use only to dimension ,roof area will be projected area and will be less than  actual glass area.(In my problem there is %20 area difference). If I use actual glass area ,This gives also wrong result because solar radiation area is the projected area.Which area must I use.Thank you in advance

RE: Carrier E20 hap software atrium heat load calculation.

if you are simulating a "half-pipe" you should have an area of vertical glass that would be input as two glazed walls.  Then under your roof option you can input 4 roof types per space, each of the four types would be input at varying angles to approximate the smooth curved "half-pipe" shape.  Each roof type would have a skylight associated with it.

This should give you a reasonable approximation for your system geometry.
