Sheetmetal workbenches

Hello Catia gurus,

I wonder if there is some way to identify the sheetmetal tool used to create a sheetmetal part. I know dimensions of sheetmetal parts can be modified at any sheetmetal workbench, but if I want to add features to part I must use the same workbench in which the part was created.

We've migrating to R15, and now Generative Sheetmetal is the only toolset for new sheetmetal parts. We've been using sheetmetal since R7, so we have bunch of sheetmetal parts made with Sheetmetal Design.

Jarkko

RE: Sheetmetal workbenches

I believe that you can still get to the old Sheetmetal Workbench thru an Environment Variable - I rememeber hearing that during a COE session.  I don't remember what the variable is, however.

Thanks for your reply Jim.

I can get to old SMD workbench. That's not the problem.

I just wonder if there's a way to know which workbench to enter for existing sheetmetal part modifications.

I've learned from experience that if get error message "... Please create a sheetmetal feature first" when trying to add features to sheetmetal part I'm in wrong workbench and I must switch to another SMD workbench.
