Plastic film distortion during embossing?

Plastic film distortion during embossing?

Plastic film distortion during embossing?

(OP)
I am manufacturing a plastic product with a texture on one side only using either PVC / PC / or Vinyl film approx 0.40mm thickness.  I am running the plastic sheets thought an embossing mill with a knurling pattern on one side.  However, when the plastic comes out of the rolling mill, it curls.  It is required that the final product being debossed to be flat rather than curled. Do ou have any suggestions, please help?

RE: Plastic film distortion during embossing?

Try heating the rollers of the embossing machine to different temperatures. The sheet should pull toward the hottest side on cooling.

Try stacking the sheets on a flat surface and heating them to annealing temperature while being held flat with a clamp. This might also reduce the embossing, so experiments to determine best compromise conditions might be necessary.
