10-16 UNC screw minimum standard length?

10-16 UNC screw minimum standard length?

10-16 UNC screw minimum standard length?

(OP)
I don't have the resources to research this, as the drawings are to be completed today.  Does anyone here know what the shortest standard length 10-16 UNC screw is?  I do not know what type the customer is going to use other than the thread size.  It is a mushroom situation (kept in the dark and fed b*@@$%!t).

RE: 10-16 UNC screw minimum standard length?

10-16 is not UNC.  Course thread for #10 screw is 24 tpi.

Fastenal (http://www.fastenal.com/web/home.ex) lists #10-24 screws as short as 1/8".

Thanks for the quick reply!  A star for your answer and for the link.  You are right to correct me as I did mean 10-24.
The key-locked insert the screw is mating to is going into G10 glass, and I was concerned that the customer may use a screw which would bottom out (hole is only .270 deep and tap diameter increased to .332 with only .0215 radial engagement) and pull the insert out.  The insert has been machined from .312 to .25 long to fit.  I do not like the design, but have no say in correcting it (such as using a  1 dia helicoil instead).
