Inter part copy

Inter part copy

(OP)
I have a situation where an assembly model was created with some inter part copy features to one of its components. That component has been moved into another assembly by replacing a similar part. We now want to do some additional inter part copy to that component but aren't allowed to because the existing links are pointing to the original assembly. Is there a way to link the component with the inter part copied features to the new assembly?

Thanks - Dave

RE: Inter part copy

Hi,

I don't think you can transfer the link. You should delete that useless old link (I assume) and the you will be able to create new ones. To delete links, you can use 'break link' in the interpart manager.

RE: Inter part copy

Don't know if it works for this case but you could try using Edit>Links.
You can use this to change re-define linked documents.
