(OP)
I am looking for a flange mounted 24 volt DC motor in the 1/2 to 1 horsepower range that is approved for an ATEX installation.  I have searched for variouss links in the internet and have found nothing.  Can anyone recommend a vendor that can supply this.

RE: 1/2 to 1 HP 24 VDC Motor that is ATEX approved

Someone may know of a DC motor of this size suitable for use in a potentialy explosive enviroment but as far as I am aware they simply do not exist in industry. DC motors use brushes and commutators and they by nature generate sparks and arcing......not the type of thing you want in a gaseous enviroment. Use a 3ph AC ATEX approved ExD motor, with a suitable inverter if you want variable speed.
