No mercy fromm CCRL Inspector
No mercy fromm CCRL Inspector
(OP)
When recording the temperature of one of my curing tanks on the second day of a recent CCRL lab inspection the inspector noted that the third and final temperature reading in one of the 7 tanks was low by two tenths of a degree celcius. This was the only defficiency he found in two days. He wrote me up.

I recall that the temperature range was 73 (oF) plus or minus 3 degrees. I also recall that the accuracy of the thermometer was to be +/- 0.1 degree.
I could be wrong but the point is that as long as your tanks were within the range required by the ASTM document as recorded by your thermometer and your thermometer meets the accuracy of that document.Your reply to the CCRL comment should just state that fact.
If not, adjust the temperature in the tank to meet the requirement and reply to the comment with what actions were taken to bring the system in compliance.
CCRL is looking into your QA system and your ability to maintain it. If you had only ONE (!) comment then you are doing very well.
