How to import downloaded parts in .x_t format?

How to import downloaded parts in .x_t format?

(OP)
I have recently found a thread on this forum about downloadable standard parts from sites such as http://www.traceparts.com, etc... however they come in .x_t format... I m at a loss on how do I import that in Catia? Do I need a translating software? And if I do, which one? Thank you very much...

RE: How to import downloaded parts in .x_t format?

Yes, you need a translator.  This is a parasolid, and you would need to have the appropriate MultiCAx plugin.

A much better alternative, in my opinion, is to buy one of the many "lesser" CAD programs, and use them as a translation package.  You need a program with the base conversion that you are looking for, and a STEP or IGES translator, depending on what's already available for you. (preferrably STEP)

Dassault is ridiculously overpriced on their translation plugins.  This is one of their biggest weaknesses - again, in my opinion...
