Wireless connnection, help required

(OP)
Hello members,

I have a laptop with intel (R)PRO/wireless 2200BG capability and a wireless enabled router DRYTEK vigor 2600V. I am trying to establish wireless connection between two, while scanning the laptop does detect wireless network and infact does connect to it but for some reason the internet does not work, I can not do browsing or anything else, why is that ? could someone please suggest a solution.

note: the same laptop with same settings works fine on wireless at my home.

I would appreciate any thoughts.

Regards
Kaz

RE: Wireless connnection, help required

I assume you mean a Draytek...

This could be many things.  I'll start with the simple ones that come to mind.

The 2600V has Internet filtering.  Check your setup and make sure the present setup isn't blocking you from the internet.

Is your laptop set with a static IP address or DHCP?  I don't see DHCP support on the 2600V so that could be a difference between your two networks.  Seems highly unlikely as you can detect the network though... I'm not an IT guy.

If those two don't help, what OS are you using?  In Windows WinIPcfg.exe or ipconfig.exe might give you some clues if you compare the results on the laptop when connected to each network.
