Convert 0-10vdc to a 0-20mv or 4-20mv for process

Convert 0-10vdc to a 0-20mv or 4-20mv for process

Well I need to go from a 0-10vdc transducer to a Omega cn132 meter for display. It will only take an 0-20mv or 4-20mv input, any ideas?

Its a 4-20MV not ma. Thanks

Now could I just make a transformer out of a small torriod and some wire?

RE: Convert 0-10vdc to a 0-20mv or 4-20mv for process

Sorry trimixdiver, the brain saw what it wanted to see.  How about a 500 to 1 resistor divider.

RE: Convert 0-10vdc to a 0-20mv or 4-20mv for process

Get a Pheonix catalog.  They have a converter that should handle what you need that is DIN rail mountable.  You can also try Carotron (sp?) that has a card that will do conversion that you are looking for.

Two resistors: 499R and 1R00. Connect them in series, apply the 0-10V signal to the series pair and tap off the 0-20mV across the 1R00 resistor. Both resistors are standard values, select tolerance to suit your requirements.

Scotty is correct, but almost any 500:1 divider would work.
For high impedance supplies and inputs, you may want to raise
the total resistance to 1k or 10k.
