Bimetallic Strip

Bimetallic Strip

Bimetallic Strip

(OP)
Hello all,

I am looking for some quantitaive analysis of bimetallic strips.Mainly, the tip deflection with respect to the current applied to the strip.

I know that a detialed analysis of this in given in "Analysis of tip deflection and force of a bimetallic cantilever microactuator". Journal of MicroMechanics and MicroEngineering 1993 page 4-7. But cannot have access to that unless I subscribe. Just wondering if any of you can help me with a softcopy of that.

I assume that the deflection angle will depend on the temperature difference, which will inturn depends on the amount of current being applied to the bimetallic strip. If that is the case does anybody have any idea what the relationship could be and where I can find some information on this.

Any pointers, suggestions? I am looking at this from the MEMS point of view.

Thanks in advance
Sreedhar
