Mouse problems

Mouse problems

(OP)
Hi everybody.
I have a strange problem with the mouse central button to rotate the model.
I'm running SW 2004SP4.2, mouse Logitech MX700 and logitech drivers on Windows 2000.
Sometimes, especially with assemblies (but also with some parts), when I click and drag the scroller to rotate, the model simply traslates out of the window, apparently rotating around an infinitely far point behind the screen.
Anyone seen anything like that?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.  All new members should read FAQ559-1091 :  "How to get answers for your SW questions."

Hint: search SW help file for "Mouse", then pick "Middle Mouse Button Functions".

Thanks, but I think the problem is more subtle.
It often happens when I swap from a SW window to other programs, then when I go back to SW the problem shows up.

Sometimes (but not always) running the setup of the mouse solves the problem. Otherwise I have to exit SW to fix it.

RE: Mouse problems

Stefano,

I think what you should change out your mouse.  To my knowledge it's not a SWx problem....2004 sp4.2 is a stable build.  Also, you might want to download the drivers for that mouse from Logitech's website and not rely on the drivers inside of Windows2000.  I'm currently running Windows2000 professional on my home machine and find that it's not as plug-n-play as XP Pro.  Just some thoughts

Thanks Heckler, they actually are Logitech drivers run on Windows 2000.
I recently updated them with no result.
I also tried to repair the SW installation with no result too.

It's not that bad problem, I'm surviving it since long ago, it's just annoying. But if anyone had the same problem... we can just weep together..

RE: Mouse problems

It's a problem with the Logitech drivers - Be sure "Disable acceleration in games" is unchecked.

If that doesn't fix it and you are running the latest, try and find and older one or repair the one you have now.
