start-up methods

I saw many start-up methods :
Across the line ; Part winding; Wye-delta open;Wye-delta closed ; Primary transformer ;Auto Transformer; Solid state;

Who can tell me under what conditions I need to use the corresponding start-up methods ?

RE: start-up methods

The starting method to use depends on the pump type you are using, the motor power,the operating conditions and the power source etc. There is no 1 rule for each type of starting method, each has its advantages and its disadvantages.

RE: start-up methods

I would place this enquiry in the electric motors and motor control engineering group for a complete answer
