Reflective Coatings

(OP)
I want to create a high intensity illumination for a web inspection system for hot rolled steel. A line scan camera is being considered for imaging. Normal CCDs peak their response at about 700nm. Can some one help me know what kind of illumination arrangement can be considered. Since the speed of the steel strip is about 10meters a second, the stand off distance between inspection platform and the strip is about 2meter( this is a limitation because of heat radiation from the strip). What are best suitable reflector materials for this situation? Can high power (1500 watts)Halogen Lamps be used ?

RE: Reflective Coatings

Hello head
high frequrancy floros can provide quite even lighting for camera work , the cri is quite good and power consumption much lower that halogen. The life is high on most floros and the reduced heat output means that reflectors are likely to last a lot longer. It also enables u to use sheet reflectors such as mylar film..
good luck :)
