CATIA V5R13 MAKING A WELDMENT ASSEMBLY FOR MACHINING

CATIA V5R13 MAKING A WELDMENT ASSEMBLY FOR MACHINING

CATIA V5R13 MAKING A WELDMENT ASSEMBLY FOR MACHINING

(OP)
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO MACHINE A WELDMENT ASSEMBLY IN CATIA V5 WITHOUT CHANGING THE INDIVIDUAL PART MODELS.
IN OTHER WORDS THE MACHINING SHOULD ONLY SHOW UP IN THE
MACHINED WELDMENT NOT IN THE PIECE PART.???

RE: CATIA V5R13 MAKING A WELDMENT ASSEMBLY FOR MACHINING

restaz:

If the weldment is a single model file (CATpart), then "copy" and "paste special with link" into a new part file, and continue to add/subtract the "machined" features.  The pasted part will be linked to the weldment part file and can be updated.
