exporting V5 mesh to ANSYS / NASTRAN ??

exporting V5 mesh to ANSYS / NASTRAN ??

(OP)
Hi folks,

I'm using Catia V5R11 for CAD modelling. I'd like to run some advanced FEA calculations using either Ansys or Nastran (for now I don't own these softwares).

I'd like to know if it is possible to run a FEA model in Ansys/Nastran, using a V5 mesh (then bypassing Meshing softwares like Patran...).

(I know I was possible to import a catia V4 mesh to Ansys)

Thank you for your help!
cheers
JB

RE: exporting V5 mesh to ANSYS / NASTRAN ??

Hello,

You have to mesh your models in Catia, give them the properties and the do an export mesh.

You will get a BDF file. This file have to be imported to Patran or Nastran depends if you are going to modified something or only calculate.
