We plan to use it in oil pipeline but I'm not sure how it's work and they will affect the properties of oil ? and what is the efficiency of it ?

I have just seen your question and hope this late reply assists. Pour point depressants are designed to modify wax crystals as they come out of solution. They are used for waxy crudes and for distillates.

The wax crystal can represent a three dimensional multiaxial crystal that traps the liquid phase. On a waxy crude line in Australia (Jackson to Moonie) the viscosity changed fro 26000 cp to 5 cp using a pour point depressant. Professor David Boger at the University of Melbourne did most of the research into which PPD should be used for this line. They all have specific properties when it comes to crude oil. The dosage rate and effectiveness has to be determined in the laboratory if you want to minimise expenditure.
