Any body guess how much a reconditioned EMD 645 is worth?
Or 710

RE: How much is new or reconditioned EMD 645?Or 710?

I can guess.
Of course it depends on how many cylinders, and how bad the main parts were before the rebuild started.
And such things as weld repairs to the crankcase etc.
I would think a 16 cylinder job would be in the $300,000. range.

RE: How much is new or reconditioned EMD 645?Or 710?

EMD engine pricing is determined by block configuration light block C model w/ 645 packs or heavy E block which is the true 645 model

645C block engine w/ blowers rebuilt around 80,000 - $130,000.00
645 E block w/ blowers upwards to $210,000.00 - $275,000.00 depending on core cost of eng to rebuild w/ requalified packs and parts w/ new main and rod brgs,

This is for 16-cyl 645
