Shear rate of power law fluid at outer wall of annuli

Shear rate of power law fluid at outer wall of annuli

Shear rate of power law fluid at outer wall of annuli

(OP)
The shear rate of a power law fluid at the wall of a pipe in laminar flow is:

((3n+1)/n) x (Q/(pi x r3))

n = flow index
Q = volumetric flow rate
pi = 3.14159
r = inside radius of pipe

Does anyone have a reference and/or equation for the shear rate at the inside of the outer wall of a annuli in laminar flow?

Is there another forum I could try?

Good luck,
Latexman

RE: Shear rate of power law fluid at outer wall of annuli

Couldn't it be approximated by the equation you list above?

Try the Mecahnical Engineers piping & fluid mechanics engineering.
