Possible video card problem

Possible video card problem

Possible video card problem

(OP)
Every so often I'll open a drawing or model and get a big black bar along the left and top of my viewport pane of Solidworks.  I'm using a HP xw8000, Xeon proc, 1.5GB Ram, Nvidia Quadro4 380XGL card.  The only thing is that the video driver I have is from HP NOT Nvidia or the one listed on SW certified driver list.  I would only assume that HP used the correct driver since I bought this PC designed specifically for SolidWorks from HP.

Any help?

RE: Possible video card problem

The obvious would be to download the nVidia driver and not assume HP gave you the right one...

Sorry if I'm missing something or that seemed rude...it's not meant to be (rude, that is).

I was also running Windows Media Player at the time.  And our IT guy found out that there is a conflict with WMP and SW.  So i'm trying not to run WMP.

RE: Possible video card problem

Strange... I run WMP all the time with SW and have not had any conflicts.

How did he determine that it was a conflict?

RE: Possible video card problem

I'm with Scott......I run WMP with no problems to SWx.  You might be a victim of the Sony cloaking software if you're loaded songs from a Sony CD.....just a thought.
