Searching for 'flexible' electrode

Searching for 'flexible' electrode

(OP)
I have a situation where I need to find a flexible electode for an automated welding process.  The electrode must be flexible because the required contact area is not consistant.  We are looking at possible making a mat out of braided copper.  Does anyone know a source of braided copper connectors that has enough knowledge to guide us in this direction?  Is there an alternative that we haven't thought of?

RE: Searching for 'flexible' electrode

Would you describe the automated welding process you plan? Is it an arc process, a resistance process or an induction process?

RE: Searching for 'flexible' electrode

(OP)
It is a resistance welding process with one or more projections on one of the parts to be welded.
