Surface finish pocket guide

(OP)
Hi all,

Can any of you tell me where i can get one of those pocket surface finish guides (europe if possible), you know the ones with the little machined samples bonded to a plate; I have googled with no avail. Thanks

RE: Surface finish pocket guide

Hi,

They are called Rugotest, now made by Elcometer:

Do a search on eBay in the category:
Business & Industrial > Manufacturing & Metalworking > Metalworking Tooling, Supplies > Inspection & Measurement > Inspection Gages > Surface

I found bid prices starting from $1 (plus S&H). E.g.,
http://cgi.ebay.com/GAR-Electroforming-S-22-Microfinish-Comparator-CNC_W0QQitemZ7562737202QQcategoryZ58233QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The companies that sell surface profilometers, e.g., Federal & Mitutoyo & Hommel sell the surface guides as well as standard calibration surfaces. Elcometer has surface profile - surface roughness, comparators & pit gauges: http://www.elcometer.com/international%20index%20pages/international/Coatings/index.htm
