Rendering & Animation Overnight - How Long Did it Take?

Rendering & Animation Overnight - How Long Did it Take?

(OP)
I saved a rendered animation overnight last night.  Is there a way to tell how long it took to complete?

Not from a SW or animation standpoint that I am aware of.

You can check your Event logs, maybe they will have some type of time tracking. However I am not sure they will tell you either.

Sure--if you saved your output to a file, and you know when you started, the date and time on your file will tell you when the file was created (when your rendering stopped).

You probably know this is good to track this stuff, especially if you're up against a deadline.  I did some animations with beautifully-rendered details in early September for a PowerPoint presentation.  One segment lasted only 29 seconds, but required almost 30 hours to render.  I wasn't sure I'd get done in time, but it ended up working out.

Nice!  It took four hours.

And yes, I want (need) to know for the reason you describe--I need to know that an animation I start will finish in an acceptable time.

Thanks!

Brian
