(OP)
i am creating a 3 way split mold for a valve part. the part has been modelled on a point cloud and has been verified. When creating the parting surface to split the mold i get the same error up every time.

"Split feature has failed due to problems in intersection of parting geometry
with mold volume. Intersection curves are highlighted in green, ends of gaps
in intersection curves are highlighted in red."

All of my parting surface edges are in green. The parting surface is supposed to touch the mold volume, thats how it splits it.
Can anyone help?

RE: mold cavities

Are you using Mold Volumes, if you are try using only one parting surface or other mold volumes. Pro/Mold has trouble splitting a mold volume when you use more than one mold volume

Clear as Mud 8^)

or

Is the surface for the point cloud data a nurb surface or a poly mesh surface (triangulated), if it's polymesh Pro/E won't split it.
