Combinations in Sap2000

Hello friends, I would like to know which the form simplest to be made the combinations of loads in a structure of more or less automatic form in Sap2000.  The ideal would be to introduce the loads and safety factors and that of automatic form were combined to obtain the envelopes.  Thanks beforehand.  A greeting

RE: Combinations in Sap2000

The answer seems simple, so sorry if i have not truly understanded what you need.
If you work in linear, i'd run as many analysis cases as i need, then i'd define Combos entering the cases and the safety factors you need, linear adding a case to another.

Do. Or do not.

Hello, which I am trying to do is that the program combines the loads.  I would introduce the loads and coeficienes of security for the favorable and unfavorable cases.  The program would calculate all the possible combinations later and the envelopes.  Treatment to avoid to have to write all the possible combinations in the program.  Greetings

RE: Combinations in Sap2000

SAP will automatically generate factored load combinations per design code IF you do design and IF SAP has the design code you need. Even then, sometimes you have to add your own combinations. Alternatively, you can define load combinations yourself and save them to use again using the Edit menu>Interactive database tables. Under the Load Definitions > 'Response combinations' (not a very intuitive name, at first I thought it had something to do with Response spectrum). You can also do the same thing with Load cases.

You can export the load cases and load combination tables to Excel and File menu> Import the Excel file for models that are applicable for that set of loads and load combinations which you have saved. Assuming you have a SAP version recent enough (version 8 or newer I think) to have the database tables.
