Converting Wireframe to Solid in Catia V5

Converting Wireframe to Solid in Catia V5

(OP)
I've inherited a Product in which a Part is drawn as a wireframe helix (it's acutally a representation of a spring). I need to make it into a solid so that there is 3D geometry associated with it.

Can anyone give me a reliable solution, or tell me how to wrap a 3D surface around the 2D wire?

Interestingly, if I export it to a .model file, it seems to end up as a solid.

Thanks.

RE: Converting Wireframe to Solid in Catia V5

Hi,

There is a helix command in v5 which will give you what you want or you can *close* the surface.

Take a look at wireframe and surfaces benchmark.

Regards
Fernando
