Grow your business
Grow your business
(OP)
I can't stand it. It seems like this usage of the word "grow" has grown!
You don't do something to "grow your business". You do something to "make your business grow".
Anyone else notice this, especially on the television or radio or am I just kooky?

RE: Grow your business
I grow tomatoes and flowers.
Buy a dictionary, keep it nearby and USE it. Webster's New World Dictionary of American English is recommended, and Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.

Drives me nuts too.
The first time I heard that phrase was when I was out of the country and talking with someone that English was there second language, so I didn't think much about it. Then I started hearing it a lot here in the U.S. so I decided that I was the only one behind the eight-ball.
You made my day. Thanks

RE: Grow your business
'the company will sustain organic growth'
I've never understood what it means.
Perhaps they (accountants, directors etc) intend to plant the company in the manure they're talking.
RE: Grow your business
Organic growth is used to imply that the company will be able to increase revenue (hopefully profit as well) through the existing business. This is in contrast to growth through acquisition.

I think it is technically correct, but sloppy.
