Cylindrical roller bearing with increased speed.
Cylindrical roller bearing with increased speed.
(OP)
Does anyone know about increasing the limiting speed of cylindrical roller bearings just by removing intercalated rollers from it? Is it a common thing?
I see that the basic dynamic load will decrease, but what happens with general tolerances? Why would it increase the limiting speed?
Thank you all,
Dalcantara

RE: Cylindrical roller bearing with increased speed.
Higher speeds are normally obtained through careful cage design and increased precision. Ultimately the idea is to get everything perfectly balanced at speed, ie higher ring concentricity through higher precision along with a strong more precise cage which will keep the rollers in check at higher speeds.
Sorry not to give an easy answer.
