Osnap and Menu settings

When you get the osnap quick select menu up, every osnap would have a letter underlined.  Instead of clicking on the osnap that you wanted, you could just hit the letter that is underlined and you would get that osnap.  But, now those letters are not underlined.

It is the exact same as when you hit ALT in CAD.  A letter is underlined in each menu option.

RE: Osnap and Menu settings

Here is something that I find time saving.

The command is "mbuttonpan".  Set it to either 1 or zero, depending upon where it is currently set.  Doing this will allow your osnaps to be controlled with the center mouse button.  Just center-click and choose the desired osnap from the list.

RE: Osnap and Menu settings

After you mentioned it I noticed that the key letter isn't shown in 2005. But typing in the key letter still works, e.g. M for midpoint, Q for quadrant, etc. I guess you have to memorize or guess the proper key. Good work Autodesk!

RE: Osnap and Menu settings

Or, you could just use shift - right mouse click for the osnap menu.   Setting the mbuttonpan to zero screws with my ability to pan around using the wheel.

Thanks for the info guys.  I do have the mbuttonpan set to zero so I can get the osnaps with the center button. I have a few key letters memorized like m-midpoint, c-center, r-nearest, e-end.  I did have the key letters underlined in 2004 at one time but they're not any more.  It's not a big deal, it just saves a few seconds every time I osnap.

Having osnap set to zero does mess with the ability to pan with the center button.  I have a mouse with two side buttons so I set one for "enter" and one for "p".  Hitting them both at the same time allows for easy panning.

RE: Osnap and Menu settings

I lost my underline on menu alt key shortcuts also, but I got it back... this is a Windows function. RB on you desktop to your display properties dialog box click the Effects tab. uncheck the "Hide keyboard navigation indicators until I use the Alt key" check box. That should bring them back for you.

The underlines work in windows and also in CAD for the menu bars. ie File, Edit, View, ect...  They just don't work for the OSNAP screen.

If anyone cares, the capitalized letters are the ones to push for quick Osnaps.
