Reattach Center marks???

Reattach Center marks???

Reattach Center marks???

(OP)
Hi, I have a part that have a lot of holes in it.  For design questions, I have to add an extrude feature in this face, so my sketch include the holes as well as the form of the extrude (Yes, I know there are better ways to do this, but this was the best way in this case).  I made my drawing and add center marks in the holes.  Now, I'm reusing the part but I have to suppres the extrude, and the centermarks now appears in yellow.  I think this is because they lost their attachmnet with the hole, and I was wonder is there a way to reattach this marks with the holes, Because If I erase it, all my dimensions gets lost too, and there is a lot of redimension if I do this.

Thanks for your help!!

RE: Reattach Center marks???

Adi,

This has been a long standing issue, but an understandable one.  One thing I always always do is dimension to the hole, not the center mark.  This may not always look pretty, but you can adjust the witness line if you need to.  By dimensioning to the hole, the dimension will be much less likely to have problems.

RE: Reattach Center marks???

As long as you are not using SP1.0 of SW. There is a bug preventing you from adjusting the Witness lines... found this bug, when SP1.0 first came out.

Well, I'll have to turn off the Auto center marks then...By the way... I'm Using SW2005 SP2... the problem is that my drawing is already done, and I realy hate to have that kind of errors in my models, drawings, etc (is like having the rebuild errors with Smart Fasteners...), But if there is no way, well, I will avoid to see that ugly yellow lines....  Thanks anyway....

RE: Reattach Center marks???

You can delete the Centermarks and re-add them at the drawing level. If you have Dimensioned to those centermarks, you will have to redimension the drawing.
