I hate being my own IT guy. Hosed my 2005 install?

So I made the mistake of inserting my SWx 2005 CD's.  I wanted to try to mess with my administrative stuff a bit. I was about to do it then changed my mind...(I discovered what I wanted to do was elsewhere) so I cancelled the process.

I tried starting SWX and it automatically went to try to install again. (ie: it would not start). It wanted me to insert my CD's. So I did. I let it do its thing and SWx started.

I then shut down Swx, figuring all was cool. But it's prompting me for my CD's again.  What have I done to myself?

You have mess up the install. You will have to uninstall and reinstall your SW... I don't think you will need to clean out the Reg though.

awesome.

I tried to do a repair, but that didn't work.

I wish I were smarter.....

You will have to uninstall the SW package, and reboot, then reinstall.

You should clean off your HDD of SW though.

read through the Solidworks Installation section of FAQ and you will be that much smarter.  That's a wealth of information that will stear you in the right direction.  I can't say enough good things about the PowerUsers on this forum that take the time to impart their knowledge...cheers

MMike1,

Also consider creating an administrative image.  It's very convenient, and it avoids quite a few problems.
