Changing a custom sheet format
Changing a custom sheet format
(OP)
If you make a change to a custom sheet format, is it possible to update the sheet format in existing drawings? According to Help, you right click in the graphics area, select properties, and then select the format. This isn't working for me- the old format remains on the drawing.

RE: Changing a custom sheet format
If it's change from one size template to another, RMB select Sheet Format in feature tree/properties/select new template.

What you need is a macro the will re-load the sheet formats while you are away sleeping, or otherwise out of the office.
I believe that macro the blimey suggested will suffice for what it is that you wish to accomplish. You could use this macro in conjuction with the solidworks task scheduler to do it later or if you cant get that to work and if you can compile that macro as an exe file you could use the windows task sheduler available under CONTROL PANEL/SHEDULED TASKS/ADD SCHEDULED TASK
hope that gives you some more to go on

As long as you brought it up, we to put things on the format we should never have in the beginning. Like revision history in upper right corner and the notes of all things. We changed our company name 4 times in about 4 years. We had thousands of drawings that needed updating.
The bottom line; “Now is the time for better planning”, not next time.
