Solid Edge "Administrator"?
Solid Edge "Administrator"?
(OP)
On several occasion we've run into a snag with a user setting the status of an assembly to "In Work", then being out the next day. This effectively stops anyone else from working on the file unless they log onto this missing user's computer, and work from there. This is a short term solution.
What worries me is if this happens with a user whose computer we cannot log onto (for whatever reason).
Is there a way that we can designate someone as the "Solid Edge Administrator"? This person would have sufficient rights that would enable them to change a drawing (stored on the network) from "In Work" to "Available".
Thank you,
Dominic Greco

RE: Solid Edge "Administrator"?
there is something like an 'Admin' but IMHO only in case
you are running managed files -- see the SE-Help about this
A simple solution might be:
- make sure no one accesses the document in question
- save the document under a different name within the same folder(!)
- check/set the status of that copied document to the
desired state and thereby make sure it's readable
- delete the original one
- rename the copied one the original name

Good small program!
RE: Solid Edge "Administrator"?
I couldn't find additional info on Coordinator.
RE: Solid Edge "Administrator"?
the coordinator will be created if you are using Insight to
manage your files, when no Insight is used you must use the
program mentioned above to set/reset the status
