B31.3 Chapter III Material Requirement Question

B31.3 Chapter III Material Requirement Question

B31.3 Chapter III Material Requirement Question

(OP)
I was hoping that someone can provide some experience or intepretation of what the documentation requirements are for use of listed material.  The code requires that where a material has been identified by specification it shall conform with the specification.

Para 323.1 Materials and Specifications
Para 323.1.1 Listed Materials. “Any material used in pressure containing piping components shall conform to a listed specification except as provided in para. 323.1.2.”
In this case para. 323.1.2 “Unlisted Material” does not apply since the Piping Classification sheet list the material to be used.

What types of documentation is available to demonstrate comformance beyond CMTRs?

Thanks for your help.

RE: B31.3 Chapter III Material Requirement Question

Certificates of Conformance and original mill markings on the pipe or fittings also validate conformance to the "listed specifictions".
