Inverse operation of vacuum tubes
Inverse operation of vacuum tubes
(OP)
In Fred Terman's book on Radio Engineering, there's a section on the inverse operation of vacuum tubes.
This means that you use the grid as the anode and the anode as the grid...
Weird.
I've never seen it referred to anywhere else.
Has anyone ever encountered this peculiar design technique?

RE: Inverse operation of vacuum tubes
It will probably work only with triodes.
Didn't Lee de Forest experiment with dual anodes before he had the bright idea to put a control electrode (the Grid) between cathode and anode?

Very odd to see the grid connected to the load like that.
Quite surreal.
thanks chaps.
