V4 Dynamic Sketcher

V4 Dynamic Sketcher

V4 Dynamic Sketcher

(OP)
I'm new to Catia and am learning V4 to satisfy customer's needs. When I open "Dynamic Sketcher" the background is white and the reference axis (AXS1) is not visible . I can blindly create geometry and save it and it is there, I just can't see it until I switch back into the Catia session.
Is this a graphis issue? Thx, Dave

RE: V4 Dynamic Sketcher

No it's not a graphic issue this is the way it was designed for v4 and the sketcher is an after construction and not as good as in v5.

RE: V4 Dynamic Sketcher

Do you mean that you cannot see the geometry that you are creating?  If so, that is NOT how it was intended.  If you mean that you cannot see the other 3-D geometry that is in your model, then JuhaEdag is correct.  You can usually, however, see some reference geoemtry if it lies on the same plane as the sketch.

Most V4 users gave up on the V4 Sketcher long ago. It was just too restrictive.  Use the 2D Mode in V4 instead (or better yet, talk your customer into accepting V5).

Thanks guys, our Catia reseller is working on this problem. They said that I didn't need to use "Dynamic Sketcher" at all, but I am self training and all the manuals that I have use the models created in Dynamic Sketcher thoughout the rest of the training exercises.
