Welding Engineer Training

(OP)
I am looking for a training program to learn welding engineering. I already have an engineering degree, but I am looking for an in-depth course where I can learn welding engineering from a distance. (ie. a correspondence corse)I have been asked by my company to become the onsite welding expert from an engineering stand point.

If anyone knows of any such courses or if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it.

Ohio State University Distance programs http://www-iwse.eng.ohio-state.edu/we/distanceeducation/distedndx.htm

Do a search on "International Welding Engineer" or "IWE" programs, though AWS is the US representative they currently are not offering this program, you might be able to get courses form other members of IIW.

RE: Welding Engineer Training

Only problem with Ohio State is that although they claim the master's can be done entirely as distance education with one week of labs here & there, there's a prereq 500-level class that isn't available through distance learning.

Has anyone here done OSU's distance WE master's?
