[SE V16] Managed library
[SE V16] Managed library
(OP)
In our firm we regulary need to revise parts. In the Revision Manager we create a copy of an existing part. Then make the changes to this document. Back in the assembly environment we replace the revised parts by hand. In the help I read about the revision option. But in both the assembly environment as in the Revision Manager "Revisions..." or "Set action to revise" are hidden.
So I tought this has to deal with a missing managed library.
We have a server with Windows Server 2003. As far as I know, we don't have Sharepoint. Do we need Sharepoint to create a managed library. And do we need a managed library to make the revision commands show up?

RE: [SE V16] Managed library
Windows server 2003 is OK it comes with Sharepoint but the you have to
set up:
- a webserver (IIS 6)
- Windows SQL server using "Remote SQL"
- Insight
There should be a presentation available on any of the 2005 summit's
proceedings look for SharePoint2003Customization

found it (not in 2005): it's accessible via the ugs ftp Server
and there in folder:
solid_edge/Summit/2004/SharePoint2003Customization.zip

RE: [SE V16] Managed library
the above mentioned file is not very helpful without some
comments. To clearfy what is needed and has to be done
Installation sequence:
1. Windows 2003 Server
2. SQL Server Manager
3. SQL Server SP2 or higher
4. WSS (Windows SharePoint Services)
5. Insight Server
I have an install description but unfortunately in German
