Propane refrigeration discharge pressure

Propane refrigeration discharge pressure

Propane refrigeration discharge pressure

(OP)
During the hot summer months(25C +), the throughput of gas through the plant is limited by our refriges. We knock down our refriges on high discharge pressure if we do not flare some of our inlet. Evaporative condensers are not an option because of lack of water. We have two arial air cooled condensers right now. we are currently running water over our disharge piping but this scaling up quick. any hints?

RE: Propane refrigeration discharge pressure

Here are a few general thing to do:

Shade the air cooled condensers to reduce influx of solar radiation.

Take amerage reading of the fan motors on the condensers, adjust the blade pitch to increase the air flow rate.

If you can adjust the fan speed.

Clean the fins on the condensers to remove any dirt, debris etc.

our fans pitch is maximum and we did have the tubes cleaned prior to summer. I thought of a shade too but where would we put so as to not restrict the air flow out of the cooler?
would there be some way to pre-cool the refrigerant before the condenser (we are doing it with water over the discharge piping now but this is scaling the piping bad)
What if you ran a refrigerant line in between the condenser tubes and the fan or is this a dumb idea.
