Suppressed mates across Assembly Configurations

Suppressed mates across Assembly Configurations

Suppressed mates across Assembly Configurations

(OP)
I have a motor assembly with about 10 configurations varying length, width, height etc etc. I recently decided that I would like to put some bearings into the assembly. The bearing would be the same across all configurations. I applied 3 mates to the bearing (concentric, coincident and parallel). However, when I move to another configuration my bearing is free to float around the screen. When I check I find that the 3 mates I assigned in the previous configuration are now 'suppressed'. The solution is to unsuppress all 3 mates. However, this is a real slow pain. Is there anyway I can specify that I want the bearing mated the same in all configurations?

RE: Suppressed mates across Assembly Configurations

Right-click a configuration > Properties > Advanced Options pane > uncheck "Suppress new features and mates" and "Suppress new components".  Not sure if this will work AFTER you mated the part, but it works if you do this next time before you add the part and mate.

Cheers, I wonder is there any way that can be set as default saving time going through the 100's of configurations I have on some sub assemblies.

RE: Suppressed mates across Assembly Configurations

If you Ctrl-select the suppressed mates, you can then use Edit > Unsuppress > All configurations.

Maybe an API could be written to iterate through & change multiple config properties advanced options.
