I just went onto PTC's website and it seems they have dropped any reference to Wildfire....it's now back to Pro/E.  Is PTC having an identity crisis?  Has PTC received so much bad press about WF that they are going back to calling it Pro/E.

I would be curious if any of you guys have an insight into this.

RE: Pro/E or Wildfire

That is interesting. Maybe they've found another natural disaster to name it after...

Maybe they'll admit it's got a lot of bugs so far and have renamed it "Pro/Engineer Swarm of Locusts"

BTW does anyone know the expected release date for WF3?

RE: Pro/E or Wildfire

March/April, 2006 according to the PTC Product Calendar dated Oct 6, 2005.

"Wildfires are dangerous, hard to control, and economically catastrophic."
"Fixed in the next release" should replace "Product First" as the PTC slogan.

So is WF3 really Pro/E 2006?  I'm confused why PTC doesn't make mention of WF on their website.  Are they trying to distance themselves from that product.

RE: Pro/E or Wildfire

Maybe a group representing natural "Wildfires" filed suit against PTC for defamation.

PTC likes changing the name to get more sales. "The new software is so different, it will be much easier to use"

Fox,

I think you missed my point.  When PTC was promoting Wildfire they mentioned nothing of it being "Pro/E" like the old days 2001 and earlier.  It was Wildfire this and Wildfire that.....Now, they don't mention Wildfire it's back to Pro/E.  Not like in the past it was known as Pro/E 2001 or Pro/E rev 18.  Their is something going on within PTC....and I haven't found anything to substantiate this, yet!  All my insiders have moved onto greener pastures.
