Change of HEPA filters

(OP)
Hi
Is it true that we muss change HEPA filters if there is a change of 10% in the pressure? it means the filters is satured with dust?

Which standar gives that infomation?

Thanks a lot

RE: Change of HEPA filters

Normally you can get the changing pattern requirement data from the vendor. They have better idea because they work on day to day basis. I guess the 10 % value is not a universal standard. Infact it changes from company to company and is based on policy of the company.

Hope this helps

RE: Change of HEPA filters

Vendor / manufacturer can provide background information on the performance of their filters, but you are also responsible on your end as the manufacturer cannot know the effect of your particluates on their equipment.  If you seek to only supply HEPA air to an area then your 10% rule may be appropriate.  If, however, you have an air quality (count) specification in your area, then monitor the air counts against the performance of the filter to see if a correlation exists.  Always, keep the end goal in mind, and change the filters prior to their failing.
