Construction Materials Estimating Values
Construction Materials Estimating Values
(OP)
While reviewing for the SE II Exam, I noticed one question involved construction economics, ie. what is the approximate cost of the two slab scenarios designed (one composite, one not.) Due to all the destruction and construction lately, I've had a difficult time keeping up with costs. Can anyone give me some reasonable values for placed reinforced concrete, steel, joists, wood, shear studs, basically whatever you've got. I'm in the Midwest, but I don't know if that is relevant since this is a national exam.
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: Construction Materials Estimating Values
In Ohio, ODOT has historical bid data here http
Off the top of my head I would say, in general, placed concrete = $400/cy, steel installed = $1.50/lb. Not sure about other items.
Hope this helps.
