section views not displaying

I've a drawing that will not display all the section views upon opening and dis-associates the dimensions.  If I click on the section lines and reverse them then return them to normal and rebuild they will show (dimensions remain lost).  any ideas?

RE: section views not displaying

(OP)
it brings the views back but disassociates about 1/3 of the dimensions on the print.

What command does that run?

RE: section views not displaying

(OP)
"Force rebuild the model and rebuild all of its features"

nevermind on the second question.

The referenced part is a derived part, both are open when the command was run

RE: section views not displaying

Temporarily turn on "Verification of rebuild"

Tools\options\System Options\Performance

And the open up the drawing and see what happens.

Turn it off after you test this as it causes a performance hit.

no change - still missing the views

RE: section views not displaying

Try changing your views to Draft Quality.

RE: section views not displaying

(OP)
I changed the model slightly and the problem resolved iutself on a rebuild.  Either that or my PC liked the dirty talk.

RE: section views not displaying

I have seen this many times (experiencing this now) where I store a drawing in the vault & during the next revision the drawing views won't show any components.  The views are present and I can see properties, but no model representation.  Iv'e changed from draft to high qty and numerous other things to no avail.
The balloons and leaders are present.
It is like all the components get hidden for some reason.

Does anyone know how to fix them?

At some point you just have to shoot the engineer and build the dang thing.

RE: section views not displaying

(OP)
try updating the model(s), I changed a dim and changed it back and it fixed the problem.  Kind of a PITA but better than reassociating the dimensions.  I don't know what the root cause is.

RE: section views not displaying

strange...
My parent view is there (front)
No top view components are shown
No side view components are shown
section views of Top and Side views are fine.

Must I re do the *&^% views each time I find this problem?

I have seen times when changing from draft to high worked. (why?)
This has been going on over several versions of the software.
It really sucks.  I wish someone knew the cause at least so I could avoid this.

Others here have experienced this problem as well.

RE: section views not displaying

I tried the new listed driver the other day and had a terrible experience with it.  Everytime I clicked on my toolbox (better description "design library") I got one of those SEE YA' crashes.  You know.  No warning, No Sorry, No Solidworks program running...all of the sudden like.

I had to put the 5303 back.
Iv'e had pretty good luck with that driver.

thanks for the reply, Ctopher

RE: section views not displaying

Did you do the proper uninstall and reinstall procedure of installing new drivers?

1) Shutdown all apps
2) Shutdown Anti-virus
3) Uninstall Video drivers
4) Reboot
5) Install new drivers
6) Reboot
7) Test

Did you stop your AV before installing? If not you should have.

DId you shutdown all apps?

If you did all the above and still had problems, then the problem is most likely in your OS.

RE: section views not displaying

Just one more word...
way to bring those views back from the dead
restore projected views that were not showing by:
navigate to THAT views properties
delete one item
for some reason it restored my view =)
