GUYED TOWER

I am looking for any good references on guyed tower analysis or even any recommended software.

Thank you

RE: GUYED TOWER

Try:

EIA (Electronics Industries Association)/TIA (Telecommunications Industry Association) - 222-E

Structural Standards for Steel Antenna Towers and Antenna Supporting Structures.

Thanks mrMikee I looked up that RISA TOWER and unfortunatley it's quite expensive as I only do this type of analysis once in a while I couldn't convince the company to purchase a copy. So I have do do it by hand. I have not done one of these analysis before.

RE: GUYED TOWER

Mudadi,

I would still look into the sample problems if you can find them on the RISA site.   The old c-concepts site had several good solved problems.  Even though they used special software it might still be interesting reading even if you do these by hand.

RE: GUYED TOWER

You could look at BS 8100 (a british design standard) which covers the design of different types of towers and lattice masts.  It has few different parts.

BS 8100-4:1995 "Lattice towers and masts. Code of practice for loading of guyed masts" gives recommendations for procedures to be used to determine the loading for the design and appraisal of guyed masts of lattice construction.
