Hi,

I've recently crossed over from mech to elec due to the sudden resignation of one of our senior electrical techs.  This is only a temp position until his slot is filled and I am only operating rather than the technical side of things however, I would like to get a handle on reading electrical dwgs; a). to be able to help out fault finding and, b). so as to not look like too much of a plank!

Can anyone help me with conventions and/or any links or docs which may be of use...thanx in advance..

I just looked at the schematic link. What A load of rubbish. Hump back bridges in circuit diagrams are indeed obsolete. The way the junction is handled is that you NEVER join 4 branches at one node. This way a cross-over is unique, even if there is an unintentional blob caused by a copying machine. In other words T-junctions are the maximum (3 branches) number of branches at any node.
