Shading both side of a surface

Shading both side of a surface

(OP)
Is it my graphics card or just some setting that I'm missing?  When I create a surface, only one side is shaded.  When I rotate to see the other side, it is transparent.  Using NVIDIA Quadro4 900XGL graphics card if that helps any.

RE: Shading both side of a surface

In NX2 (other versions should be similar) go to Preferences -> Visualization... and on the Visual tab make sure the Two sided light box is checked.

RE: Shading both side of a surface

(OP)
It is checked.  Still not working.

RE: Shading both side of a surface

Mine is checked but it is grayed out. my surface is shaded on both sides though.

RE: Shading both side of a surface

Ok, plan B.

Preferences -> Visualization performance
General settings tab, make sure backface culling is NOT checked.

RE: Shading both side of a surface

(OP)
Unchecking backface culling did the trick!

Thanks.
